Biography —
Leila is an Assistant Researcher at the Center for Community Health and Development, where she supports the implementation of research and evaluation projects, training, and technical support for initiatives focusing on youth violence prevention and health and well-being promotion. Leyla also assists in facilitating training for community-based initiatives, focusing on capacity building for community change and improvement through the Community Toolbox Curriculum.
She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in food science from Isfahan University of Technology (IUT) in Iran. To further expand her knowledge, she later earned a second master’s in nutrition science from the University of Kansas Medical Center (KUMC) in Kansas City. With experience in conducting research, she is involved in all steps of the process, including question identification, study design, participant recruitment and screening, and data collection, as well as analysis and dissemination of results. Her primary focus has been on clinical trials and translational research aimed at assessing interventions in food, nutrition, and lifestyle designed to prevent or treat health conditions and improve overall quality of life.
