Background and Professional Interests
Thelma likes solving technology puzzles and making technology understandable to the people who use it. She is also passionate about helping those in need and about learning new things, so her job with the Center for Community Health and Development is a joyful combination for her. Her technology skills help support the Community Tool Box, and the Community Check Box. Both of these tools are used by people and organizations all over the world, which gives Thelma a great opportunity to use her skills to support the great work that these organizations are doing.
Thelma’s experience includes over 15 years of managing small and large technology projects and improving technology processes for KU Information Technology. She earned a Service Manager’s Certification in IT Service Management, the highest level of certification on the internationally recognized ITIL framework for identifying, planning, delivering, and supporting IT services. She also earned an Information Technology Project Management Methodology Certification from the State of Kansas.
Thelma is a lifelong Kansan who received her Bachelor of General Studies in English from the University of Kansas. She is also a master gardener and an avid traveler.
