Biography

Lauratu Bah is pursuing her doctoral degree in the Department of Applied Behavioral Science at KU. She serves as a Graduate Research Assistant with Dr. Jomella Watson-Thompson. Lauratu received her B.S. in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worcester State University and her M.A. in Special Education with a focus on Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of Texas at San Antonio.

Lauratu has a passion for education, research, and social justice in academia and through practice. She aspires for research to influence policy and practice in behavior analysis. Current research interests include community-based participatory research among youth of predominantly Black and other racial and ethnic groups, youth violence prevention, and critical multicultural studies within the field of behavior analysis. Her research incorporates multidisciplinary approaches to inform and address issues related to systemic inequalities. Lauratu also serves as the current student representative for the Kansas Association for Applied Behavior Analysis.
